Our going away party was premature!  Memphis Smoke is staying open throughout 2010.  We will back there on Monday the 13th (no show on Labor Day).  See you all there.

As a result, BD's Mongolian Grill will go back to their original day of Tuesday.  That show debuts on 9/14 with your host Kevin.

Please note that BD's Mongolian Barbeque of Royal Oak will now be an 8pm Monday show.  The show debut will be on 9/13/10.  We'll see you there!

8/26/10 - Part I
We want to thank everyone who has helped us pack Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak each Monday.  It is with sadness that we announce that this coming Monday will be their final MCT show as they are closing their doors the following week.

As a thank you, we will be providing each team who brings in a coupon a free appetizer this Monday.  That coupon will be in Monday's email newsletter, which you can sign up for at the box on the top of this page. 

We want to thank the staff there who have been extremely supportive of MCT.  We wish them all well in their future endeavors.

Memphis Smoke league teams will have their league cut off after week 13.  We suggest checking out BD's Mongolian BBQ (Mondays), Dick O'Dow's (Mondays) or Mt. Chalet (Wednesdays/Sundays) for your Season 5 action in the area

All you can eat stir fry...need we say more?  We are happy to announce a new Royal Oak venue for our wonderful teams in that area to play at.  BD's Mongolian Barbeque will begin hosting a weekly MCT event.

CJ's in Plymouth on Thursdays is back to regular trivia.  There are still a few tournament qualifyiing spots available at this venue, so you might consider checking this one out.

$14.49 for a Pizza and a Pitcher....sounds good to us.  And now you can enjoy that special while playing MotorCity Trivia at the Northville Sports Den in Northville.  Every Tuesday at 7pm, the Sports Den is the place to be.  This show promises to be a fun one.  Catch the debut on 8/12/10.

7/26/10 - Part II

Please note that TGI Friday's of Canton has moved to Wednesdays at 9pm beginning this week.

Also, for the next six weeks, anyone who plays Barcapades at Sticks in Ypsi will receive five league points to the venue of their choice, and a two-game credit in the overall standings.  Teams must check in with the host to receive their points.

Stop by Aubree's in Ypsi this Sunday starting at 3pm for their summer pig roast.  A game of Barcapades will be played around 4pm as well.

Beginning this week, only teams who are signed up for the MCT league will be eligible to participate in the MCT Progressive game.

7/26/10 - Part I
Come support the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Marching Band at an MCT fundraiser.   The PCMB has been named the state champion marching band in fifteen of the last sixteen years.  They were recently invited to play in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in 2011. 

Top Prize is $150 cash
Runner Up receives $75

Cost is $10.00 per person to play.

As per the league rules, the eight teams who play MCT the most often receive a free spot in finals.  Visit the league page for the first edition of the standings.  They will be updated every Monday afternoon.

Hey Brighton!  You can now play MCT at Sean O'Callaghan's every Monday night at 8pm.  Things kick off on July 26th!  We also suggest checking out their Blues Night each Wednesday.

7/12/10 - Part I
Don't forget to tune in to 93.9 The River starting tomorrow.  Every Tuesday is MotorCity Trivia Tuesday.  They will ask a music trivia question and if you're the first to answer it, you'll win a great prize.  They kick things off tomorrow with tickets to see Sting at DTE Energy Music Theater.  We have it on good word, that the first question will be asked between 9am and 10am.

We are pleased to announce that JR's Bar and Grill in Westland will begin hosting MCT every Wednesday night at 8pm.  Their debut show will be on July 21st.  We hope to see you there.

Lots of updates today....


Starting on July 13th, listen to 93.9 The River every Tuesday for MotorCity Trivia Tuesdays.  The River will be asking music trivia questions three times daily and are offering up some great prizes for the winners.  Also, be on the lookout for some great River giveaways at upcoming MCT shows soon.  We are very proud to be partnered with this outstanding radio station.

As many of you know, MotorCity Trivia is run by B.E.E.R., LLC.  That stands for the Bar Entertainment Ensemble for Recreation.  While MCT will always be our primary focus, we are also proud to offer other entertainment options to our local bars/restaurants.  If you haven't already, be sure to check out Barcapades at Aubree's in Ypsilanti on Saturday nights.  It's a mix between "Let's Make a Deal," "Minute to Win It," and 8-year-old's birthday party and beer.  Hosted by the always wild and fun Nate, it's sure to be a good time.

We are also proud to represent "The Magicians."  Matt the Magician currently hosts MCT with us at three locations, but he is also a bonified stud when it comes to magic.  Along with his (and our) friend Joseph, these two are truly outstanding at what they do.  Those of you who came to our one year anniversary party got to experience them first hand.

Finally, we hope you enjoy the new look to the website.   It was time to freshen up a bit and there will be more changes coming soon!

MCT is happy to welcome Aubree's Pizza in Northville to our show roster.  Many of you have asked us for more weekend shows and Aubree's is delivering.  Starting on July 10th, you can play MCT every Saturday night at 10pm.  How about 1/2 price apps, $4.00 drafts of any tasty flavor or $2.75 wells???  Good stuff.

Correction to the previous post: Halligan Bar will debut this week on Wednesday, June 16th (Not the 17th).  They offer $1.00 Bud, Bud Light and Miller Light pints during trivia! Hope to see you there.

An actual "Motor City" locaton to play Motor City Trivia at.  That's right, you can now play MCT at Halligan Bar in Detroit.  Located on Warren Road and Outer Drivie, this will be the place to be in the area on Wednesdays.  The shows debut on June 17th at 8pm and 9pm.  Big Joe is your host.  Help us get the show started right!

Thank you to all the teams who competed in the tournament over this past weekend.  All the scores from the finals are posted on the league page.

We hope you all had a blast - win or lose.  Congrats to all the teams who won money and/or raffle prizes.  And of coure, a special congrats to "Just Us" on their repeat victory.  They are $3,000 richer!  It goes to show that you can wager 8 on the audio, get it wrong, and still come back to win.

Season 4 starts tonight.  Be sure to head on over to the league page as the rules have changed drastically (and for the better).  We took many of your suggestions from our last survey to help shape the league the way we think you will enjoy it the most.

CJ's in Plymouth is canceled tonight due to the Stevenson High School graduation taking place in the arena.  We'll see you back there next week.  Don't forget that CJ's now runs happy hour throughout the duration of trivia on Thursdays.
